With a strong foundation of customer service, RCA introduced this “mini fridge” to the market towards the end of 2018. Since then, their Single Reversible Door Refrigerator and Freezer (4.4 Cubic ft.) has become a popular image throughout college dorms, offices, apartments, and even bedrooms.

One of the biggest concerns addressed by RCA is the need for space. In many places, space is a rare commodity, and so having a full-size refrigerator is often completely out of the question. The next best alternative is this compact, yet powerful duo. With a surprising 4.4 cubic feet of storage space, you can easily hold two gallons of milk in the door, and multiple upright gallons in the main chest area. Easily, this is a must have for any dorm or office.

Type

This model is a refrigerator and freezer combo. Contained within a single unit, the “freezer” area is in the top right-hand compartment. It has a small door that easily slides open. It can store 2 ice trays side by side, or small pints of ice cream for those late night cravings. Total capacity is 4.4 cubic feet, which sounds small but is well laid out and therefore, quite spacious.

Shelving:

Easily move the shelving units around to make the perfect height for your beverages or plates. Simply remove a rack and store it for later, or move them up and down as you need. Store your soda or beer in the convenient beverage dispenser rack that holds a total of 7 12oz cans. The top shelf which is the perfect height can hold the remaining. In the chest area, store your water, milk, full-size 2-liters with ease. There are no “drawers” in this model.

Temperature Controls:

As this is a compact option, sadly, we do lose out on some of the bells and whistles that come with a large refrigerator. You can manually control the temperature, however, since there are no true separate compartments, you cannot set a temperature for the top side or lower side of this small unit. The “freezer” is considered a “chiller” as this is where the coldness originates from, so with the correct setting for the rest of the unit, the compartment is a “freezer” area.

Voltage and Certification:

In many places, having access to an outlet is a problem. This unit uses the start 120-volt outlets, just make sure you have access to a ground. Another issue facing would-be-users is that to have a “mini fridge” in your office or dorm, it needs to have specific energy saving settings. Thankfully, Midea has gotten an Energy Star certification for this unit, meaning you can use it without raising your bill exponentially.

Design and Finish:
