Review of Frigidaire FFHS2622MS – Side-by-Side Refrigerator Pros and Cons
Following my interest in gadgets and my quest for finding the perfect refrigerator, I recently tried out the Frigidaire FFHS2622MS – an eye appealing Side-by-Side unit. It has a 26 cubic feet capacity and it draw my interest because it’s advertised as Eco-Friendly, but surprisingly is not Energy Star Rated.
Taking the Frigidaire FFHS2622MS out of the box and plugging it in, I had high expectations for a quality product that should normally be expected from Frigidaire. They are the first manufacturer of a self-contained refrigerator(1916) after all.

Features
Refrigerator Type and Capacity
As the name implies, the refrigerator is a Side-by-Side model with a total capacity of 25.8 cubic feet. It has a standard layout, having the fridge compartment on the right (16.05 cubic feet) and the freezer compartment on the left (9.01 cubic feet). It also has a fresh water dispenser and ice maker.

Freshness Features
It’s no longer necessary to put a box of baking soda inside or buy a separate air filer to eliminate odors. This Frigidaire FFHS2622MS Side-by-Side comes standard with a “Pure Air Ultra” air filter that does the job for you.
The drawers feature separate humidity control, to help keep your fruits and vegetables fresher and crisper longer.
To ensure the best quality water, a Pure Source 3 water filter is also included.
Temperature Control
The Frigidaire FFHS2622MS fridge offers a range of temperature settings, allowing you to easily adjust the temperature to your desired level. The controls are simple to use, making it easy to keep your food at the perfect temperature for preservation. The ability to easily adjust the temperature is an important feature for keeping your food fresh and preventing spoilage.
The temperature is controlled by adjusting the 5 color-coordinated electronic buttons located inside the refrigerator. These allow for setting the freezer within a range of –18 degrees to –16 degrees Celsius and the refrigerator compartment between 1 degree and 4 degrees Celsius.
Voltage and Certification
- Standard – 120 Volt, 60 Hz, 8.5 Amps.
- It’s certified by the Canadian Standards Associate (CSA), thought it’s not Energy Star Rated
- The manual states that it is rated for Energy Saver Plus. This puts the refrigerator into energy-saving mode automatically if it’s not opened for 24 hours.
Design, Finish and Materials
This refrigerator is a stainless steel model with a special coating applied to resist fingerprints marks. The shelving is “SpillSafe Glass Shelving” and the bins are made out of good quality plastic.

Noise Level
Noise level is an important consideration when purchasing a refrigerator. The Frigidaire FFHS2622MS fridge is designed to operate quietly, so it won’t disrupt your daily life. The level of noise it produces when in operation is minimal, making it a great option for those who value a quiet kitchen.
Special Features
The ice dispenser is able to supply both crushed and cubed ice. So, this is good news for the smoothie lovers 🙂
Warranty
Frigidaire provides a standard one-year limited warranty on all parts and service, though you can purchase a 3-year extended warranty if you prefer.
Detailed View
This Frigidaire side-by-side refrigerator is an eye appealing unit and, considering standard requirements, it does have adequate storage capacity.
With it’s advanced flexibility for shelving and bin configuration, you should be able to find a combination that best suites your needs.
The smudge resistant coating is highly appreciated as it keep a cleaner look for longer periods of time.
The Store-More humidity controlled bins are very efficient and help keep your vegetables and fruits crisper and fresher.
The wheels are a good addiction that start to make sense when you need to clean behind the refrigerator.
The only downside it that this is not an Energy Star Rated fridge, but it does come with Energy Saving Plus which is a nice feature as well.
Other Customer Reviews
The comments of some buyers are not that positive I’m afraid. Many suggested that they purchased this refrigerator because of the assumption that Frigidaire solds only quality products.
However, some comments range from “We purchased this refrigerator because we assumed Frigidaire was a quality brand” to “terrible product” and “worst refrigerator I’ve ever owned”.
People did not complain about the looks and features. They complain mostly about the poor quality manufacturing that wasn’t expected from Frigidaire.
Conclusion
I was excited taking this new Frigidaire FFHS2622MS Side-by-Side Refrigerator out of the box. I feel like a good fridge to me and it performed pretty well in my testing, the only downsides being customer opinion and not being Energy Star rated.
